In
order to accommodate increasing patient volumes and demand for our services, WPMH
is planning a number of expansion projects. The 2010 master plan includes the
construction of a new patient pavilion with universal patient rooms, a new radiology
department, and outpatient services. The
first two phases of the plan will be opening in 2004. The first of which is the
ED expansion including private exam rooms and a new express care unit. In addition,
19 monitored beds will increase the inpatient occupancy. WPMH will also be making
major facility improvements, such as upgrading the electrical and energy plant
systems and painting the Lakemont side of the hospital. We are also planning renovations
of key service areas, such as OB/Women's, Orthopaedics and Sleep Disorders. These
plans are aligned with the Florida Hospital mission of creating global pacesetting
facilities.
