Jude 24

"He will keep you from falling." ...JUDE 24

My path is paved with bananas. Every step is perilous, possibly catapulting me over the cliff or into the oncoming crowd. I must step softly, yet solidly, for the danger is great and the journey is vital.

I am a Christian, following God's path on earth's road.

Spectators and fellow travelers offer guidance, most of it more distracting than helpful. Some wave enthusiastic flags of support, knocking me off balance. Others shout false directions or siren calls to dead-end roads.

A few come quietly and walk beside me. Their support clears my mind and guides my feet.

Occasionally, I hear a distant voice speaking clearly, as if to me, personally. Today that is the voice of Jude, an unknown friend whose words hang in the air above the path.

"Stay right at the center of God's love. Keep your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ. This is the unending life, the REAL life!"

His message adds a determined bounce to my steps. The bananas become as solid as paving stones.

And we walk together
Arm in arm
Called forward by Jude's promise
Walking tall in God's bright presence
Certain that He will keep us on our feet
On His path.
